In Seeing a Bird
A Poem Echoing Truths of Matthew 6:26
"Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
— Matthew 6:26
I see a bird
perched on a fir,
and wonder how
God loves me more.
For they, with feathers
great, He’ll dress,
but I, He clothes
with righteousness.
From seeds and insects,
birds are fed,
but God, He gives me
Living Bread.
And birds to fountains
deep He leads,
But I, He brings
to living springs.
Then nestled into
trees, they sleep,
but I find rest
beneath His wings.
Until one day
their days must end,
but when I die,
new life begins.
I watch him take flight
from the fir,
amazed my God would
love me more.
