Held
A Battered Sheep, a Strong Shepherd
Held
Weak am I; a battered sheep
Defenseless, here I lie.
But strong is He, who loves and keeps,
and tends to every cry.
My Savior stays beside me,
through the fire, we will go.
Yet safe with Him, no burns I bear
Our robes gleam white as snow.
When bones and heart give way to death
and to the earth I fold,
He lifts me to His shoulders strong;
a steady, loving hold.
Then through the waters deep, He treks—
a Shepherd with His sheep.
With trembling legs, I rest on Him,
who gently bids me “sleep.”
Until one day, our journey ends
as we approach the throne.
I gaze into my Father’s eyes
and sing, for I am home.

Loving your poems as I go through the process of a double earthquake in my country, Venezuela 🫂 only the Lord has given us strength and prepared us for this even and what's to come. Only in Him I find rest for my soul 🥹
